An Aftermath of “Same Rain”

🗓️ October 18, 2024

⏰ Read Time: 1 min

The rain came

Now it won’t stop.

Let the rain hit the roof,

let the waters pile up

I am not yet washed away

If It soaks in through the floorboards

I will open the door

Wade out into the deep

The drudge and deadline will rinse clean

Early is as wrong as late

I am on time, on course, onward

*

Waste no time looking back

Waste no time wondering why

There are few precious hours left, and you are free, and free is good.

*

Wade out into the deep

Let the rain fall

Let the waters pile up

“Go ahead!” I shout

For what is rain to a river.

What is water to the sea.

I am not what they make of me.

I am what my mirror sees.
